Intern - Structures and Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking an intern in airframe structures engineering, with a passion for developing structural components and mechanical systems. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a skillset in all three areas of structures design, analysis, and fabrication.
Your Contributions:
- Develop light weight structural designs, backed by solid understanding of load paths and analytical methods.
- Develop structural and mechanical layouts in CAD, detailing out solutions for manufacturing (2D drawings).
- Conduct preliminary analysis rooted in analytical formulas, followed by detailed sizing utilizing Finite Element (FE) models, according to load cases.
- Prepare documentation to support designs and to resolve issues. Help prepare presentations for design reviews. Assist the project engineer in preparing for technical interchange meetings and technical program reviews.
Minimum Requirements:
- Student in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Mechanical Engineering, Material Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical field. Recent graduates are also eligible.
- English language skills, verbal and written.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience with hands-on fabrication of structural parts and assemblies utilizing composite materials.
- Experience with lightweight aerostructures and demonstrated strong engineering skills in structural analysis.
- Experience with Siemens NX (CAD)
- Experience with analytical software such as FEMAP, NASTRAN, Matlab is a plus.
- Relevant Coursework / Experience with the composite part detail design process, including composites stacking sequence, lamination theory, honeycomb core, bonded assemblies, manufacturing assembly and fabrication processes, post-cure machining operations.
