Axalp Technologies is a dynamic company dedicated to shaping the future of aerospace and related fields by providing engineering services to selected customers and partners. Join our highly talented and motivated team and work on challenging tasks developing cutting-edge systems, ranging from new-design eVTOL “flying taxis” to solar- and electric-powered aircraft.  Axalp Technologies also develops ultralightweight, highperformance propulsion solutions for advanced aerospace systems.

We are seeking an intern in electromechanical engineering, with a passion for developing high-performance electric motors and associated systems.  The work will combine electromagnetic design, precision mechanical engineering, and handson system testing to deliver bespoke motor and propeller systems.  This role offers deep exposure to the full development cycle—from design through integration and system testing

Your Contributions:
  • Support the electromagnetic design and optimization of a custom electric motor (frameless architecture)
  • Contribute to mechanical design, including structural concepts, mass optimization, and integration constraints
  • Assist with electrical design, including motor interfacing, wiring, and basic power electronics considerations
  • Integrate the frameless motor into a custom propeller and drive system
  • Participate in prototype assembly, instrumentation, and system‑level testing
  • Analyze test data and support iterative design improvements
  • Document designs, analyses, and test results clearly and professionally

Minimum Requirements:
  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Solid fundamentals in at least two of the following:
    • Electromagnetic machine design
    • Mechanical design and structures
    • Electrical systems and motor control basics
  • Experience with student engineering projects such as:
    • Formula Student
    • Solar car competitions
    • Other electric powertrain, UAV, robotics, or similar hands‑on projects
  • Familiarity with CAD tools and basic simulation or analysis workflows
  • Practical, hands‑on mindset with strong problem‑solving skills
  • Good English language skills, verbal and written.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Experience with electric motors (BLDC, PMSM, or similar)
  • Exposure to lightweight structures or aerospace design principles
  • Experience with testing, instrumentation, or data analysis
  • Interest in high‑performance or aerospace propulsion systems
  • Experience with Siemens NX
What we offer:
  • Become an integral part of a highly skilled and motivated team
  • Exciting and rewarding projects
  • Flexible work hours
